West Bladen Faces Long Trip To Currituck

West Bladen High School LogoWest Bladen’s Lady Knights (12-12) received the No. 19 seed in the East when the NCHSAA Class 2-A Play-offs were released Saturday and will travel to the far northeastern corner of the state to play No. 14 seed Currituck (14-7).

The distance from West Bladen to Currituck County High in Barco is 264 miles. “Coach (Kim) Cain (West Bladen Athletic Director) said we would be right on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean,” said Coach Pam Stephens. “I hope we can play as early as possible, because of the long trip back.”

The West Bladen/Currituck winner will play the winner of the game between No. 3 Bunn (22-0) and No. 30 Elizabeth City Northeastern (9-10) in the second round.
