After being sidelined by the coronavirus and missing both their scrimmage at Midway and their season opener against South Columbus, West Bladen’s Knights will finally begin their football season Monday night at home against West Columbus. Game time is 6:30 at the Castle.
Coach Stanley Williams’ Knights will be looking to avenge a 49-36 loss to the Vikings suffered during the 2020-21 spring season. In that game West Bladen held a 30-12 halftime lead before Amajae Lowery scored 4 touchdowns to lead a 37-point Viking 2nd half rally.
Key returnees for the Knights include junior running back Gary Parker, senior quarterback Devon Strange, senior fullback/linebacker Damarius Robinson, junior wide receiver Tydrick Stewart, senior cornerback Javonta Matthews, junior Javarrie Adams, junior linemen Deonte Lacey and Xavier Lopez and junior linebacker Tyler Ward.
For the Vikings, Lowery is back for his senior season along with running backs Da’norie Mack, Cameron Eady and Darius Marshall.
