Bladen County Schools

students CNAThree West Bladen High School students who received their Certified Nurse Aide certification were recognized by the Bladen County Board of Education meeting recently.

West Bladen Nursing Fundamental students made 100 percent proficiency on their final exam under the leadership of teacher Charlotte Davis. Additionally, three students, Morgan Sweeney, Cody Long, and Peyton Fisher passed their State Certified Nursing Aide exam and are North Carolina Certified Nurse Aides. These students are now qualified to work in an assisted living facility, a skilled nursing facility, or a nursing home.

North Carolina high schools, through Health Occupations Education programs, may offer state-approved Nurse Aide I training. A memorandum of understanding between the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation/Health Care Personnel Registry Section/Center for Aide Regulation Education and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) gives management responsibility for Nurse Aide I state-approved training in high school programs to the Health Occupations Education Nurse Aide office at the NCDPI.  State-approved high school Nurse Aide training programs meet the same standards as all other state-approved Nurse Aide I training programs in North Carolina.
