The West Bladen High School Student Government Association held their annual canned food drive during the month of December.
The goal was to collect 2,000 cans and students were challenged to help reach the goal.
Activities were held to help in reaching the goal. A competition was sponsored between the third period classes with the winning class to receive a prize.
Also, a student-faculty basketball tournament was held during fourth period on Friday, Dec. 18. Students had to bring five canned food items for admission and 545 students donated to either play in the game or to attend.
The SGA received a total of 3,424 cans for the 2015 Annual Food Drive.
The canned goods were delivered to My Refuge, a Christian based feeding and clothing shelter located in Lumberton.
The SGA thanks everyone for their generosity to surpass their goal.
