West Bladen’s Lady Knights closed out the volleyball careers for seven seniors Wednesday with a loss at Elizabeth City Northeastern

Despite the exhausting 240 mile trip to Elizabeth City, Lady Knight Coach Gaye Davie was pleased with the effort her girls gave in their final match.

“My girls went to play and played well against a great team,” she said. “The score is not indicative of the way they played.”

Seniors Kathryn Schultz, Jenna Dove, Logan Autry, Morgan Schumacher, Kassidy Anderson, Laikyn Pait and Kaylee Stevens played their final match for the Lady Knights who finished with a 10-10 record.

“We had a great season and I am very proud of this team,” added Coach Davis. “I will miss my seniors.”

Schultz slammed in 6 kills, a block and 2 service points to lead the Lady Knights at Northeastern. Autry fired in 4 aces, 3 service points and 2 kills. Sophmore Raegan Davis hammered in 5 kills and 2 solo blocks.

Dove knocked in 2 aces and a service point. Schumacher pounded in 2 kills, and Anderson and Pait tallied one service point each.
