Victoria Harrelson is No. 5 on the second row.

TABOR CITY – The West Bladen and South Columbus volleyball teams joined together on Senior Night Monday at South Columbus to honor Victoria Harrelson who collapsed during a softball practice on February 12 while running to third base.

“Victoria was air-lifted out after she collapsed and not given any chance of survival,” said West Bladen Coach Gaye Davis. “With prayer and God’s help, she made a miraculous recovery and is now walking and talking.”

The teams agreed to play a 5 minute exhibition Monday to allow Harrelson the opportunity to play a little. She also did the first serve during the exhibition.

“No matter the outcome of the game, Victoria is the real winner,” said Coach Davis. “Tonight was not about winning and losing. The picture shows two teams coming together for one cause, the true meaning of sport.”
