West Bladen rising juniors Carley Dawson and Conner Brisson have been selected to play on the Southeast Region team in the 2017 North Carolina State Powerade Softball Games in Greensboro onJune 20-21.
Dawson, a third baseman. batted .500 for the 2017 season as the Lady Knights posted a 20-4 record and reached the second round of the Class 2A state play-offs. She led the team in runs (36), hits (33) and runs batted in (32). Dawson slugged 3 home runs and 7 doubles.
Brisson, a shortstop, led West Bladen with a .516 batting average. She cracked 32 hits, scored 23 runs, drove in 23 runs and blasted 2 triples.
