With temperatures climbing to nearly 90 degrees, many folks were looking for ways to keep cool on July 4.  Goldston’s Beach was the place to be on Monday as can be attested by the large crowds that took time to enjoy a swim in the lake, or visit the Goldston’s Beach Gift Shop or dine in the Sandwich Shop or Goldston’s Restaurant.

Marcus Parker of Louisville, KY said his family comes to White Lake every year.

“We usually come down for here all the time for the summer. It’s a nice crowd out here this year,” said Parker.

His young son Kyree was fascinated with all of the sights and sounds.

Merchants were pleased with the crowd as they shopped, ate and enjoyed the day at the lake.

“This is about a normal crowd for a Fourth of July weekend,” said Jonathan Grady, who works the gate at Goldston’s Beach.

As the sun was beginning to set on the day, folks were beginning to gather to find their favorite viewing for the fireworks show that will take place about 9 p.m. at Goldston’s Beach.
