A cable that connects the NOAA weather radio transmitter in Winnabow was damaged recently and the station is unable to broadcast, says Steven Pflaff, who is the Warning Coordination Meteorologist for the National Weather Service’s Wilmington office. Installion of a new antenna may take a couple of months to complete, Pflaff said.

The transmitter services southeastern North Carolina, which includes Bladen County.

Weather information can be received through the National Weather Service’s Wilmington website at www.weather.gov/ilm, various local government social media outlets, and local media broadcasts and applications.
