A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for Bladen County beginning at 6 a.m. Wednesday and continuing until 6 a.m. Thursday morning.

According to the National Weather Service Office in Wilmington, wind chills are expected to dip to 10 above zero to 5 above zero overnight Tuesday. Heavy mixed precipitation is expected to develop across the area of northeastern South Carolina and southeastern North Carolina on Wednesday afternoon. Total snow accumulations are predicted to reach between one to three inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze are also forecast.

A Winter Storm Watch means conditions are favorable for snow, sleet or ice accumulations that potentially can impact travel.
