A women’s conference “Already Extraordinary” is planned for Saturday, September 16, at The Venue at White Lake. Pre-registration for the conference is now open.
The cost for the conference is $35 which includes a lunch. A Pastry and Coffee Social begins at 8:30 a.m. and the conference will begin at 9:30 a.m. Door prizes will also be given away during the conference.
Tonya Hoglen, founder of Girlfriends in Faith Together (G. I. F. T.), said there will be two speakers for the conference. They are Teresa Allen and Beth Greer.
Allen is the President and founder of Merry Hearts Ministries and will be sharing her testimony. “She has some comedy she performs, as well,” said Hoglen.
Beth Greer will also be speaking. She ministers to others through Life and Godliness Ministries.
Hoglen said there will also be a performance by the OASIS Bethany Praise Team.
She said the goal of the women’s conference is a simple one.
“We want to get women together, provide some fellowship and encouragement for ladies. We want them to come out and enjoy themselves,” said Hoglen.
She added women don’t generally take time for themselves and get away. “We feel guilty if we do it,” said Hoglen. She added the conference will let those who attend know that is okay to take time for yourself.
Hoglen said the idea for a women’s conference had been on her heart for some time. She said she wanted to do a one day conference where women can come and know they are in God’s presence and know they are special.
The theme for this year’s conference is Already Extraordinary. Hoglen said the idea comes from the fact women do not always understand the beauty that is already inside of them. She related it to a caterpillar that becomes a butterfly. She explained the caterpillar, as it lives its life, doesn’t really know what it is going to become. Hoglen said the caterpillar has no idea of the beauty that is inside and it eventually finds itself inside its cocoon and it feels dead in the cocoon. Hoglen said at just the right moment, a beautiful butterfly emerges.
Hoglen said those that would like to host a table will need to meet at The Venue at White Lake on Friday, September 15, 2017, to set up their tables. Prior to the conference, table leaders need to submit information for all of their guests.
