Coach Billy Bryant’s West Bladen women’s tennis team will open their season Monday at St. Pauls in a 4 p.m. league match.

Bryant was an assistant coach last season as the Lady Knights posted a 16-3 record and were runners-up in the Three Rivers Conference. Departed via graduation is Helen Lopez (9-2 in doubles), and out with a knee injury is No. 1 player Conner Brisson (11-4 in singles and 9-4 in doubles).

Returning players include: senior Savannah Lee (13-3 in singles, 7-4 in doubles), senior Mireya Sandoval (13-2 in singles, 12-0 in doubles), junior Autumn Brisson (12-2 in singles, 9-2 in doubles and junior Alyssa Smith (10-1 in singles, 12-0 in doubles).

Coach Megan Kirby’s East Bladen’s women’s tennis team will host Three Rivers Conference foe East Columbus at 4 p.m. The Lady Eagles posted a 4-14 record last season.

Lost to graduation was No. 1 player Jayme LeeAnn Frady. Returning are seniors Ting Lin (12-6 in singles, 7-8 in doubles), Anna Kate White (5-4 in doubles) and Olivia Barnes. Other returnees include sophmores Lily Lin (5-4 in doubles), Carlie West and Sammi Jiang.
