CERRO GORDO – West Bladen swept West Columbus 9-0 Monday in non-conference girls tennis action.
“We are getting solid play out of Alanna (Ludlum) and Amber (Long) at the top of our order,” said West Bladen Coach Jeff Atkinson. “They are playing some great tennis right now. Our lower seeds are improving as well. We still have work to do on getting our #2 and #3 doubles teams playing better together.
“We still have to do a better job cutting down our unforced errors but we are young with 2 sophomores and 1 freshman playing our 4-6 seeds,” continued Atkinson. “Hopefully we can get that game experience by playing these non-conference matches that will help when we hit conference play.”
West Bladen, now 3-0, will travel to East Columbus Wednesday for a 4 p.m. match.
