What was initially reported as a vehicle fire scorched about four acres of the property before being brought under control Monday afternoon near Council. The fire ocurred at 535 Sara Peterson Road, Council.
The Clarkton, Carvers Creek, Lisbon, Hallsboro and White’s Creek fire departments all responded along with the NC Forest Service.
No injuries were reported.
