Bladen County Schools announced the appointment of Ursula Wooten as the new principal of East Arcadia Elementary School effective July 1.
Wooten obtained her master’s degree in school administration with a concentration in curriculum from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in middle grades education with a concentration in language arts and social studies from North Carolina Central University.
She has been an educator for 19 years, with 15 of those years in Bladen County Schools. Wooten has prior experience as an assistant principal, a high school college liaison and a classroom teacher.
East Arcadia Elementary School will be hosting a meet and greet for its new principal on July 23 in the school cafeteria from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Parents, school staff, and community members are invited to attend.
