“The best always comes last.”

The apogee is the culminating moment of a process and therefore tends to be the most yearned. Within this idea, people consider that the apogee, besides being a culminating juncture, is also the point of the highest development of a stage, area, or operation.

Initially, the term apogee had a different meaning than it does today. In the field of astrology, the apogee is known as the farthest point from the earth within the orbit of the moon. According to the word’s etymology, “apogeum” is the Latin root that gave rise to the term apogee. The components of the word structure are specifically apo and geo. In the first instance, apo means deprivation and estrangement. On the other hand, the suffix geo refers to the planet earth. In this way, apogee discusses a spatial connotation.

Throughout time, the term adopted another definition. In this case, apogee stands for the very last instant of something. Moreover, an apogee is believed to be the grandest and most memorable moment of an occasion.

Grammatically speaking, the word apogee serves as a noun and consists of three syllables (ap-o-gee). Also, its accurate pronunciation is ap-uh-jee. Following are some examples of the word:

  • My uncle is in the apogee of his professional life.
  • This is the project’s apogee; that is why it will be very particular and extravagant.
  • I was in the apogee of my career when all my plans turned against me.
  • The company stood out for its remarkable performance and commitment; in my opinion, its great apogee took place around the 80s.
  • The best never comes at the beginning, it will take a long time, and it can even come to people at the very last moment; it is then that their apogee arises.
