Geopolitics is the study of all of us concerning our history, the environment, and the impact we can have on each other.
The term geopolitics is a relatively recent word that joined the vocabulary. The word geopolitics is made up of the Greek terms geo and politics. The term geo means land. On the other hand, the word politics refers to the affairs of or related to cities. Rudolf Kjellén, from Sweden, was the one who first coined this neologism. Professor Rudolf was noted for his studies in political science and stood out as a geographer, politician, and political scientist at the time. Rudolf coined the term geopolitics in 1899.
Geopolitics links history with power. Life on earth constitutes an organized chronology or timeline that we call history. In the same way, our history has been influenced by factors such as geography, the economy, social relations, and power. Long ago, civilizations embarked on the search for territories as their primary task. Back then, the territories’ storage would allow communities to develop and progress; which was a sign of power. As in the previous example, there are multiple ways in which society has sought to structure itself socially. As a result of this, power centers have been created a strong influence on today’s society.
Therefore, we find a correlation between our life as social beings and our space; this is known as geopolitics.
Geopolitics, in general terms, focuses on the relationship between political power and geographic space. To develop its study, geopolitics makes use of tools such as history and social sciences. Sociology, anthropology, and politics are some of the bases that strengthen geopolitical research.
Beyond that, geopolitics functions as a method of study. Within the objectives of geopolitics is the struggle to analyze and understand political behavior at the international level. Likewise, geopolitics focuses on explaining the influence of politics on geographical spaces. As a result of these studies, it is possible to guide the political situation of the different countries, as well as their development.
Geopolitics has a global reach. Today, geopolitical studies can significantly influence the economy and culture of a country or territory. Furthermore, geopolitics is mainly responsible for regulating human social relations, both physically and politically.

La geopolítica es el estudio de todos nosotros en relación con nuestra historia, el medio ambiente y el impacto que podemos generarnos unos a otros.
El término geopolítica es una palabra relativamente reciente que se insertó en el vocabulario. La palabra geopolítica se compone de las palabras griegas geo y política. El término geo significa tierra. Por otro lado, la palabra política se refiere a los asuntos de las ciudades o relacionados con ellas. Rudolf Kjellén, de Suecia, fue quien acuñó este neologismo por primera vez. El profesor Rudolf se destacó por sus estudios en ciencias políticas y se destacó como geógrafo, político y politólogo de la época. El término geopolítica fue acuñado por Rudolf en el año 1899.
La vida en la tierra constituye una cronología o línea de tiempo organizada que llamamos historia. Del mismo modo, nuestra historia ha estado y está influenciada por factores como la geografía, la economía, las relaciones sociales y el poder. Hace mucho tiempo, las civilizaciones se embarcaron en la búsqueda de territorios como tarea primordial. En ese momento, los territorios permitirían a las comunidades desarrollarse y progresar; Lo cual era una señal de poder. Como en el ejemplo anterior, existen múltiples formas en las que la sociedad ha buscado estructurarse socialmente. Como resultado de esto, se han creado centros de poder que influyen constantemente en la sociedad actual.
Es por ello que evidenciamos una correlación entre nuestra vida como seres sociales y el espacio que ocupamos; esto se conoce como geopolítica.
La geopolítica en términos generales se centra en la relación entre poder político y espacio geográfico. Para desarrollar su estudio, la geopolítica hace uso de herramientas como la historia y las ciencias sociales. La sociología, la antropología y la política son algunas de las bases que fortalecen el estudio geopolítico.
Más allá de eso, la geopolítica funciona como método de estudio. Dentro de los objetivos de la geopolítica está la lucha por analizar y comprender el comportamiento político a nivel internacional. Asimismo, la geopolítica se centra en explicar la influencia de la política en los espacios geográficos. Como resultado de estos estudios, es posible orientar la situación política de los diferentes países, así como su desarrollo.
La geopolítica tiene un alcance global. En la actualidad, los estudios geopolíticos pueden tener una gran influencia en la economía y la cultura de un país o territorio. Además, la geopolítica es en gran parte responsable de regular las relaciones sociales humanas; tanto en el ámbito físico como político.
