An essential part of how we introduce ourselves to the world concerns our physical appearance. Pulchritude is the beauty found on the surface of each one of us. Fortunately, our society encloses a wide diversity of traits and characteristics, making every person’s beauty unique and special.
The word pulchritude comes from the Latin term “Pulcher.” In its literal translation, Pulcher means “beauty.” According to the Merriam- Webster Dictionary, “Pulcher hasn’t exactly been a wellspring of English terms, but it did give English both pulchritude and pulchritudinous, an adjective meaning ‘attractive’ or ‘beautiful.'” Nowadays, the word pulchritude is conceived as physical sympathy. In some cultures, this term is referred to as a virtue. Thus, there is beauty in people who take care of themselves, whether it is maintaining good corporal hygiene, being constantly hydrated, and carrying about their health. Pulchritude also has to do with the “neat way to do something.” Namely, one’s pulchritude lies in their demeanors while eating or organization while studying.
According to its grammatical structure, “pulchritude” is considered a noun. Moreover, this term consists of three syllables (pul-chri-tude), and its correct pronunciation is puhl·kruh·tood.
Following are some examples of the use of the word:
- My friend’s pulchritude is one of his best features.
- A painting’s pulchritude lies in its technique.
- Pulchritude has an extensive meaning, which can also be relative.
- Some people consider that pulchritude is nothing compared to personality.
- If pulchritude were better comprehended, it wouldn’t cause any stigma in our society.

Afortunadamente, nuestra sociedad encierra una gran diversidad de rasgos y características, que hacen que la belleza de cada persona sea única y especial.
La palabra pulcritud proviene del término latino “Pulcher.” En su traducción literal, Pulcher significa “belleza.” Hoy en día, la palabra pulchritude se concibe como simpatía física. En algunas culturas, este término se conoce como virtud. Así, hay belleza en las personas que se cuidan, ya sea manteniendo una buena higiene corporal, hidratándose constantemente y cuidando su salud. La pulcritud también tiene que ver con la “manera ordenada de hacer algo.” Es decir, la pulcritud de uno radica en su comportamiento mientras come o la organización mientras estudia.
Según su estructura gramatical, “pulcritud” se considera un sustantivo. Además, este término consta de tres sílabas (pul-cri-tud). Los siguientes son algunos ejemplos del uso de la palabra:
