WASHINGTON – Congressman Robert Pittenger (NC-09), who serves on the House Whip Team, had these remarks following the return of Majority Whip Steve Scalise to the House floor:
“What a thrilling moment this morning in the House Chamber when my friend Steve Scalise entered the room! Amid resounding cheers and applause from both sides of the aisle, Steve conveyed his gratitude to God for the miracles and answers to prayer that saved his life. He also publicly thanked the U.S. Capitol Police officers who, despite being wounded, persevered until taking down the assailant, saving many lives. Thank God for a real patriot in Steve Scalise.”
