Today (Wednesday) is the final day to file for those who are interested in seeking an elected office. The filing period will officially close at 12 noon.

Several candidates in Bladen County have added their names to the upcoming ballots for the May Primary. The most recent candidate to file for elected office is former Bladen County Commissioner Wayne Edge of Elizabethtown.  Edge, who is a Republican, has filed seeking election to the Bladen County Commissioner District 3 seat currently held by incumbent County Commissioner Russell Priest, who is a Democrat.  Priest is also being challenged by fellow Democrat William D. Whitley of Tar Heel.
