WATER FESTIVAL 2018 is underway. Today (Friday) the annual Rotary International Golf Tournament begins at The Vineyard Golf Course, Classic cars will be on display at 6:30 PM and a street dance featuring Soul on the Beach is scheduled from 6 until 9 PM this evening, both at Goldston’s Beach.
Fun time continues all day long Saturday. Bladen County Firefighters Association Honor Guard will be serving pancake plates from 7 ’til 10 AM Saturday and the annual Water Festival parade begins at 10 AM. Miss North Carolina, Victoria Huggins is this years Grand Marshall.
White Lake Fire Department is holding their annual BBQ plate lunch beginning at 11 AM Saturday, always delicious and just $7.99 per plate.
Events are scheduled around the lake Saturday afternoon, Goldston’s Beach, Camp Clearwater, Highway 701 (old airport site). Music and more music, something for everyone, all day long and into the night.
White Lake officials say the lake is good for swimming and boating. Come, spend the day or the weekend at beautiful White Lake. GOOGLE White Lake Water Festival for the entire lineup. The 2018 event continues through Saturday midnight.
Oh, to be young again. So many wonderful memories, we actually broadcast the parade a few years, a long time ago, pretty neat and in the early days (Blueberry Festival) General Motors would provide convertibles for volunteers to use. That was kewl.
