Thoughts While Shaving
Spread the love

Thoughts While ShavingWas out of my comfort zone for several hours yesterday (Saturday) headed south on I-95.  Knew it was going to be an experience, early.  Traveled NC 242 to Boardman and discovered traffic was bumper to bumper on 74 as far as the eye could see.  Soon discovered it was travel with the flow, or be ‘run over’.   I choose ‘going with the flow’.

I guess I forget how hectic it is away from the friendly confines of home, back roads of Bladen County, NC.

Number 2 son shares his experiences as a truck driver daily, on 95 and other major roads in eastern NC.  Too often, I tend to down-play his thoughts and wish him safe travels…but each time I travel 95 or some other, I can understand his concerns.  His mode of transportation is ‘governed’ to travel about 65 MPH.  I am surprised he has not been overrun by folks in the 80 MPH range.

Anything less than upper 70s was seldom in my most recent travels, and for several hours.

Now my concern is, ‘got to do it again, soon’.  Crazy!

Did see 2 law enforcement officers, one had stopped a vehicle in South Carolina and one was checking speed holding some type hand held device, saw nothing later that indicated there was further action, like attempting to stop anyone….would have been difficult.

Guess I live a sheltered life and prefer I it that way.

Thought of a few bible scriptures as I was breaking the law….but mostly afterwards.

‘Let all you that you do be done in love.  1 Corinthians 16:14.

Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angles unaware.  Hebrews 23:2.

A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.  Proverbs 15:2.
