Update: The DEA has completed their “audit” of Anderson’s Drug Store and they have reopened for business as of Thursday afternoon. No arrests were made. The business was cordoned off with yellow police tape and customers were turned away as DEA officers worked throughout the morning.

A source close to the business said, “This was an audit by the DEA and no one was arrested.”

The source added that the employees of Anderson’s Drug Store welcome the DEA’s responsiveness to the Opioid Crisis. She added the employees of the store will do their part to assist in curbing the Opioid Crisis.

Gene Anderson declined to comment.

A customer, Tom Atkinson, arrived at 11:15 a.m. only to find the store closed. He said he was attempting to pick up a prescription for heart medication he was having filled at the pharmacy.

“I thought at first may be they were doing some work on the parking lot,” said Atkinson. “It was cordoned off.”

Atkinson said he would check back with the store later to pick up his medication.
