Appears candidates are lining up for the next election for North Carolina’s 9th Congressional contest…No date is set for primary or general election date….and over 750,000 residents have no Congressman in D.C., actually closer to 1.5 million with the vacancy in the 3rd district (due to death of Rep. Walter Jones).
Interesting times.

And speaking of baseball, MacKenzie Gore of Whiteville is listed as the #2 prospect for the San Diego Padres. The much heralded left-handed pitcher was drafted and signed a huge contract couple of years ago. Last year he spent considerable time on the disable list due to blisters on his pitching hand.
High school basketball playoffs are set. East & West Bladen girls will advance to the playoffs. The Lady Eagles (26-1) will host Oxford Webb (15-8) in the opening round and the Lady Knights (15-10) will travel to Bertie (23-2) in first round play.
And, Kenzil McCall has reportedly resigned as East Bladen boys basketball coach.
