Parents, Caretakers, and Educators –

Our students’ success in school and beyond is our top priority. To reach that goal, we must create safe environments for all students.

We need mental health supports for at-risk students. School Resource Officers are also important for our schools. That’s why we worked hard in Raleigh to secure increased funding for more and better school safety efforts across the entire state. Please know these resources are there to help support safer schools.

And, you can help as we work together to keep our students safe.

This month, we are launching the NC Kindness Campaign and ask you to help us encourage more kindness in schools.

It might sound simple, but the reality is, acts of kindness can help prevent issues that might grow into tragedies. These days, there is too much violence in schools and too many problems like cyberbullying.

Let’s work together for the safety of our students and to help teachers by showing that unkindness of any type has no place in our schools.

Click here for more information on how we can all work together to keep our schools safe.

Kindness is free, often effortless, and important. Join us in our work to keep students safe from harm by working to be kind.
