The collection of food is to help break the 72 hours of hunger on the weekends some students face. The food will also aid students with food during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

“Our success depends on your support by donations and volunteers,” said Barbara Knight, of United Way of Bladen County.

Monetary contributions from individuals or businesses of $100 or more will be recognized on a banner posted at the Cape Fear Farmer’s Market in Elizabethtown the day of the event!

Volunteers to build ramps, or make small home repairs will meet team leaders at the farmer’s market and then go to the work sites that morning.

Individual contributors may drop food at Cape Fear Farmers Market on the morning of November 1 from 7:45 am until 9:00 am.
