Voting is over for the inaugural Lighting of the Lake at White Lake. The Elizabethtown–White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce announced the winners Monday.
“We are quite pleased with the number of piers that were decorated,” Terri Dennison, Executive Director of the Elizabethtown–White lake Area Chamber of Commerce said. “While not every decorated pier entered the contest, the overall involvement of the residents certainly lifted the spirits of everyone who visited the town this holiday season.”
The winners of the Lighting the Lake contest were:
Residential:
1st – Derrick and Alaina Gilchrist, 326 Lake Shore Dr. (pictured above)
2nd – Kent Smith, 35 Myrtle Ave.
3rd – Cheryl and Hector Ray, 97 Johnson St
Business:
1st – Langston’s Motel
2nd – Regal Resort
3rd – White Lake Holiday Resort
The winners received the most amount of likes and shares from the album on the Chamber’s Facebook page.
The contest, sponsored by Duke Energy, was part of the Chamber’s Warm Southern Christmas celebration. Dennison added that the Chamber will hold the Lighting of the Lake again next year.
