For most, Christmas is over, or will be soon … Time to move on to New Years…
Ever hear ‘older folks’ speak about Old Christmas? Well, I have researched the issue … several explanations … My favorite, “The comparatively recent name ‘Old Christmas’ stems from the 1752 reorganization of the calendar when twelve days were dropped from the calendar; the following year, purists said that the “real” Christmas Day was not on December 25th, but January 6th, 365 days after the previous Christmas … There are others…
I do know some folks who are reluctant to remove their Christmas decorations until after January 6th…
Ours will be ‘down’ long before that date, if left up to me…
Our celebrations are over … saw all the close kin, we are expecting an addition to family in late March, our first great-grandchild … Exciting … mostly exchanges, returns, etc. remain.

President finally signed the much debated stimulus legislation, last evening … Attorney General Barr is departing the DC scene as an employee of the federal government … Never a dull moment.
Another date to remember … January 5 (I think), penalty will be added to unpaid local property taxes … No complaints … the due date was September 1, 2020…

An improving weather forecast … Mostly sunny today, with a high near 60 and wind increasing to 5 to 9 mph. Mostly clear tonight, with a low near 37. Tuesday, sunny, with a high near 54 and more wind, gusts in the 16 mph range. Not a bad forecast for late December…
