Rick McKenzie, lineman with the Elizabethtown High School Cougar football team, was selected to play in the East-West football game in Greensboro. McKenzie was a member of the Waccamaw Athletic Association Champion Elizabethtown High School team which went 11-1 before losing in the district finals. McKenzie was the second Etown athlete to play in the East-West game with Pat Jessup selected in 1963.
Local attorneys James Melvin and Rueben Moore opened their law office in Elizabethtown.
