Sarah Louise McCulloch Quick, 91 of Clarkton, NC died on March 31, 2022. She was born on September 28, 1930, in Elkton, NC to the late Pearson and Sarah Letitia Hester McCulloch. She graduated from Clarkton High School and continued her studies at Flora McDonald College. After working at E.J. Cox Company and farming in the Bluefield community, she was employed with Waccamaw Bank which became United Carolina Bank until her retirement after 20 years of service. She was a member of the Clarkton Presbyterian Church and on the board of Brown Marsh Presbyterian Church. In her retirement years she cultivated beautiful flower and daylily gardens, where she found her peace and solace. Her hobbies included painting, porcelain doll making, cake decorating, quilt making, basket weaving, genealogy, knitting, and golf (in her former years). She truly enjoyed keeping up with her beloved high school classmates where she assisted with the planning and attendance of their annual class reunions. She was a devoted mother and loved spending time with her two daughters.
Louise is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Austin Quick, their son, Earl Austin Jr., her brother Hobson McCulloch and her sister Elsie McCulloch Campbell. She is survived by her two daughters, Sarah Llewellyn “LuLu” Quick-Rigsby (Wayne) of Carolina Shores, NC and Janet Gail Quick of the home and Richmond, VA. She loved her grand dogs, Snow and Baby, her grand cat Micah, and her grand parrot Gus.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the Clarkton Cemetery, U.S. 701 Business Clarkton, NC. The service will be officiated by The Reverend J. Barrett Ingram. A private interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Clarkton Presbyterian Church, 10433 N. College Street, Clarkton, NC 28433.
