Robert Hester, Founder of BladenOnline.comIf you missed the NCAA Men’s Championship, you missed a tale of two teams. UNC won 1st half, 40-25. Kansas won the second half and the ballgame, outscoring the Tar Heels 47-29. Final score, Kansas Jayhawks 72 – UNC Tar Heels 69. UNC had one final chance to tie the score with about 3 seconds left to play … the shot was wide right and the game was over. Pre-game betting had Kansas a 4.5 favorite. Tough loss for the Tar Heels.

Bladen County is going thru a mandated revaluation … State law requires one at least every 8 years, can occur more often, if requested by County Commissioners … As long as I can remember, Bladen County’s reval has been 8 years apart. Real estate prices have gone up, and revaluation values reflect the increase. No doubt many will complain, and maybe for a good reason. Property owners can schedule a meeting to offer thoughts, there will be some changes, but most likely, values will continue to reflect market prices … for the next 8 years.

Easter is less than 2 weeks away…

Statewide election will be held May 17, 6 weeks from today. Expect political activity to ‘pick up the pace’ soon. More campaign signs, mailings, etc. I hope and pray candidates and their ‘buddies’ abide by the state laws. If not, charge them, convict them, if guilty, send them away. Kinda tired of seeing all the bad news about Bladen County elections … Mostly same few, time after time … again and again. Time for illegal activity to end by all. PERIOD!
