Closure will be from 9 to 10 a.m. and in the afternoon from 2 to 3 p.m. Contractors will be setting huge girders on the new bridge … Should take about a month for this part of the project to be complete … Patience … please.

“One Stop Early Voting” is underway in Bladen County … ends Saturday, May 14.

Lest you forget, Mother’s Day is Sunday.

The White Lake Water Festival is set for May 21 & 22.

Bladen Crisis Fundraiser will be held Friday, May 6th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Trinity UMC, 901 West Broad Street, Elizabethtown. Tickets are $8 each for BBQ plates, slaw, baked beans and hush puppies. Proceeds will assist Bladen Crisis in their effort to serve those in need in cooperation with Bladen County Department of Social Services … Good food … good cause.

Weather forecast indicates scattered showers, mainly after 4 p.m. today’s high near 90 … windy … 30% chance of rain. Same forecast for tonight, low near 68. Chance of rain increases to 50% Wednesday afternoon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. A 60% chance of rain in the forecast for Friday, Friday night, Saturday and Saturday night and a 30% chance for Sunday and Sunday night … Hopeful, rain is needed.
