On May 11, 2022, Kenneth L. Clark, PE, District Engineer
Division of Highways, with the North Carolina Department of Transportation, gave an update on the Cape Fear River Bridge. He stated in an email, “The two main spans are complete. We will need to reposition the crane for the next lifts; thus, the bridge will not close the remainder of this week while the crane is repositioned. Closures will resume on Monday.”
Closures are scheduled for Monday morning (May 16, 2022) scheduled at from 9 am to 10 am and from 2 pm to 3 pm.
