The Bay Tree Lakes Volunteer Fire Department’s Annual Golf Tournament will take place in just a few weeks. This event got its start in 2003 by a member vocalizing this idea as a fundraiser. Since then, the golf tournament has taken flight, making this its 19th year.

Our team at Bladen online spoke with Chief Bob Corbett to get more information about the tournament. Corbett says, “we average around 10 to 14 teams every year, and each year has been great, and it continues to grow every year.”

On the day of the event, they plan to get everyone checked in and registered at 12 p.m. and then a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The cost to participate is 60 dollars per player/240 per team. After gameplay, they will start awards, followed by a meal to conclude the tournament.

If you cannot make it out, you can still support the local fire department by becoming a sponsor. There are four sponsor levels which include:

Gold- $1000: Sponsors will be recognized on a large banner at the golf tournament
Silver- $500: Sponsors will be recognized on a large banner at the golf tournament
Bronze- $250: Sponsors will be recognized on a large banner at the golf tournament
Hole- $100: A sign will be displayed at the hole with the sponsor/business name on it
