Three Things to KnowGood morning! 3 things to know for Sunday, August 30

1. It’s less than a week before dove hunting season opens, according to N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission regulations. It starts Saturday. Season for mourning doves and white-winged doves are Saturday through Oct. 10 and Nov. 23 through Jan. 15, 2016. Daily bag limit is 15 with 45 in possession.

2. Columbus County Schools offers a Career and College Academy Broadcasting Program. It broadcast its first high definition high school football game Friday night, the West Bladen at West Columbus game. It was streamed live on YouTube and you can watch it below.

3. Believe it or not, today is National Toasted Marshmallow Day. The origin of the holiday isn’t quite clear, but it’s an excuse to toast marshmallows over a fire and enjoy the goodness. If you’ve never done it, you need to. If you have done it, you’ll want to.

And now you know.
