The Bladen County Board of Education held a meeting Monday, June 12, 2023, and the meeting can be viewed online at https://bit.ly/3jY5jCN. The Board recognized the Teacher of the Year award winners from each school.
Dana Mills gave the Board an update on the Career and Technical Education classes at Bladen County. Currently, it offers over 50 different credentials to students based on their CTE course enrollment.
Board of Education Regular Scheduled Meeting dates for the 2023-2024 School Year are as follows: July 10, 2023; August 14, 2023; September 18, 2023; October 9, 2023; November 20, 2023; December 11, 2023; January 8, 2024; February 12, 2024; March 11, 2024; April 8, 2024; May 13, 2024; June 10, 2024.
BladenOnline continues to submit questions regarding public concerns to the Schools officials. Inquiries related to drivers’ education, Dr. Beatty’s contract renewal, why the Board of Education acts on personnel items with no explanation to the public, plans to change the AIG program at Clarkton School of Discovery, new curriculums being implemented, improvement plans for services for students with special needs or with behavioral health issues, and plans for salary options and pay raises have all been submitted. Once answers to the questions are provided, BladenOnline will publish the responses.
