On May 2, 2024, the Bladen County Public Library will host a special literacy event as part of the “Raising A Reader” initiative, designed to foster the love of reading among children. The event, titled “Make it & Take it Party at the Library,” is organized by Bladen Smart Start, a partnership dedicated to early childhood development.

From 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the library located at 111 N Cypress St, Elizabethtown, NC 28337, families are invited to participate in an engaging and educational experience. The event will feature activities that not only promote reading skills among young learners but also encourage children to create their own reading materials. This hands-on approach helps to instill a deeper connection with books and reading.

“Raising A Reader” is renowned for its proactive approach in encouraging children from all backgrounds to embrace reading and education. Events like these play a crucial role in early childhood literacy and help to build a foundation for lifelong learning.
