Harrells, NC—Harrells Christian Academy is honored to announce that Reverend Timothy Register will be the keynote speaker at the Baccalaureate service for the Class of 2024. The ceremony, a hallmark of graduation festivities, will be held this spring, marking a special occasion not only for the graduates but also for Reverend Register. His granddaughter, Taylor Grace, is among the graduating seniors, adding a personal touch to an already momentous event.
Reverend Register, a dedicated servant of the community and a passionate educator has deep ties with Harrells Christian Academy. He taught there from 1984 to 1987 and taught math, history, and Bible classes. During his tenure, he also served as an assistant football coach and head varsity baseball coach. His commitment to education and leadership continued to evolve as he took on roles such as administrator, Director of Technology and Finance, Assistant Superintendent, and Chairman of the Sampson County Board of Education.
A graduate of Campbell University with a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of School Administration from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, Reverend Register has nearly four decades of experience in both education and pastoral care at Siloam Baptist Church in Harrells, NC. His life’s work has been deeply influenced by his belief that “the world needed Christian people in the secular world, too.”
During the Baccalaureate service, Reverend Register will share words of wisdom with the graduates, emphasizing that “Graduates should look at every ending as a beginning and follow God’s will for their lives.” His message is expected to resonate with the young adults ready to embark on their next chapter and the entire community.
Reverend Register’s longstanding relationship with the academy and its community has been marked by lifelong friendships and a commitment to Christian values. His impact as a changemaker continues to be felt through his interactions with former students and his ongoing engagement with the academy.
The Baccalaureate service promises to be a heartfelt celebration of faith, achievement, and the promising futures of the graduates of Harrells Christian Academy. The academy invites all students, families, and community members to join in this special occasion this Sunday, May 19, 2024, at 3 pm in the Newkirk Auditorium on the HCA campus.
