This week is National Safe Boating Week … FYI … And, the National Weather Service has confirmed 7 tornadoes across our area this past Tuesday … 4 in Robeson county, 1 in Columbus County, and 2 just across the border with South Carolina, all with peak winds 75 mph or higher … 1 more in Bladen County with winds in the 65 mph range…
The Bladen County storm touched down about 5 miles south of Clarkton, near Coastal Farm, south of highway 701. continued northeast causing minor damage as it tracked a few hundred yards off Highway 701, eventually exiting near highway 211.
