Bladen County Schools is pleased to announce a series of key personnel changes that will take effect on July 1, 2024. These appointments reflect the district’s commitment to placing skilled and dedicated individuals in leadership roles to best serve our students and community.
The following individuals will assume new roles within the district:

• Jennifer Marlowe, Principal at Bladenboro Middle School
• Peggy Hester, Principal at Elizabethtown Middle School
• John Ammons, Principal at Bladenboro Primary School
• Kristy Smith, Principal at Elizabethtown Primary School
• Stephanie Norris, Executive Director of Secondary School Services
• Priscilla Brayboy, Executive Director of Elementary School Services
• Joy Matthis, Assistant Principal at Bladen Lakes Primary School
• Phillip Penny, Assistant Principal at Bladenboro Middle School
• Shannon Ross, Assistant Principal at Bladenboro Primary School
• Sandra Evans, Assistant Principal at Clarkton School of Discovery
• Heather Thompson, Assistant Principal at Dublin Primary School
• Jamaal Dunham, Assistant Principal at Elizabethtown Primary School
• CeeGee Richardson, Assistant Principal at Elizabethtown Middle School
• Cheryl White-Smith, Executive Director of Inclusive Educational Services
• Crystal O’Briant, Director of School Nutrition Services
• Dia Thomas, Director of Migrant and Multilingual Educational Services
• Robert Heavenridge, Director of Student Well-Being and Homeless Educational Services
• William Bell, Director of Digital Learning and Cybersecurity Programs
• Tim Gause, Coordinator of Transportation Services
Superintendent Dr. Jason Atkinson expressed his confidence in the new appointments, stating, “We are fortunate to have such a talented group of educators and administrators stepping into these critical roles. Their diverse skill sets and unwavering dedication to our students and community ensure that we have the right people in the right places at this pivotal time. I am confident that their leadership will drive our district forward and help us achieve our goals.”
