*The Doll Priest School of Baton presented it’s Annual Spring Recital in the Elizabethtown Primary School.
*Debra Sue Sellers of East Bladen High School was among the first All Three Rivers Conference Cheerleading Squad.
*Sheriff John B. Allen defeated challenger Jabe Frink in the runoff for Bladen County Sheriff by 255 votes. Allen won in 10 of 17 precincts while Frink won in 7 precincts in Bladen County.
