The Classic Cruisers Car Club of Elizabethtown, NC, is gearing up for its 26th Annual “Made in the Shade” Open Car and Truck Show. This annual event will take place on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the San Jose Restaurant located across from Walmart at 1320 W. Broad Street, Elizabethtown, NC. In case of rain, the event will be rescheduled to August 17, 2024.
Sponsored by notable local businesses such as Lumberton Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac, Peterson Toyota, and Zig’s Detail & Body Shop, the show promises a day filled with automotive excellence and community spirit.
The show will feature a variety of categories, including Best of Show, Best Ford, Best GM, Best Mopar, Best Truck, Best Corvette, Best Mustang, Best Original, and many more. Trophies will be awarded to the top 50 pre-1994 and top 20 post-1994 vehicles. To participate, vehicle owners must register their cars or trucks, with registration costing $25. The first 200 entries will receive special dash plaques.
Registration will open from 8:00 a.m. to noon, with judging announced and beginning promptly after the first row is full. Door prizes and a 50-50 drawing will add to the excitement, and awards will be presented at 4:00 p.m.
Participants are encouraged to enter at the main entrance of San Jose Restaurant and park as a group to ensure orderly parking. To maintain a pleasant environment, no pets are allowed except for service animals, and no loud music or alcoholic beverages will be permitted. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
The event serves as a fundraiser, with a portion of the proceeds supporting local causes such as Bladen We Care, Bladen Journal Empty Stocking Fund, Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, Relay for Life, and St. Jude’s.
