Elizabethtown, NC – Bladen County Schools is pleased to announce that Mr. Bobby Godwin will be the new principal at Elizabethtown Middle School for the 2024-2025 school year.

Mr. Godwin comes to Elizabethtown Middle with 15 years of educational experience. Since 2009, he has worked in Columbus County Schools, most recently serving as the assistant principal and athletic director for West Columbus High School.

Godwin earned his undergraduate degree in physical education from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. A lifelong learner, he continued his education, earning not one but two master’s degrees, one in school administration and the second in business administration.

“We are excited to welcome Mr. Godwin as the new principal of Elizabethtown Middle School,” shared Superintendent Dr. Jason Atkinson. “His experience and strong leadership skills will only enhance our school community. We are confident his commitment to educational excellence will inspire students and staff.”

Parents and staff are invited to “Meet the Principal” on August 1, 2024, from 11 AM – 2 PM. This event will be held at Elizabethtown Middle School. Hot dogs and drinks will be served.

Bladen County Schools looks forward to the positive impact Mr. Godwin will have as he leads Elizabethtown Middle School toward continued success and growth.
