Good morning! 3 things to know for Saturday, October 24

1. It was one day short of one year prior to Friday the last time East Bladen and West Bladen lost football games on the same night. Same opponents, too. Friday, East Bladen lost to Wallace-Rose Hill 51-13 and West Bladen lost to Clinton 50-0. On Oct. 24, 2014, East Bladen lost to Wallace-Rose Hill 14-6 and West Bladen lost to Clinton 42-6.

2. Coloring isn’t just for kids, you know. Bladen County public libraries in Bladenboro, Clarkton and Elizabethtown are having adult coloring contests next week. Contests are scheduled at Bladenboro on Monday, at Clarkton on Tuesday and at Elizabethtown on Thursday. All contests are from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. It’s open to ages 18 and older. Colored pencils and copies of an Autumn adult coloring sheet will be provided. Library patrons at each branch will vote for their favorite through Nov. 10. Contact any of the libraries for information.

3. The countdown is on. One week until Bladenboro’s BeastFest. Music, amusement rides, food, vendors, a 5k race, pet costume contest and more next Saturday downtown. Will we see the Beast of Bladenboro this year?

And now you know.
