1. The last time there was measurable rainfall in Bladen Online’s rain gauge was Oct. 11. That streak is coming to an end. It looks to be a rainy couple days ahead, but the weather forecast for the weekend looks ideal for Bladenboro’s Beast Fest. Or any other outdoor activity you have planned.
2. Friends of the Bay Lakes Fall Festival is scheduled Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Jones Lake State Park. Halloween fun and games, hayrides, hikes, food, prizes and more. Jones Lake State Park is at 4117 NC 242 North, Elizabethtown. Call (910) 588-4550 for information.
3. Although the forecasted rain may change the plan, N.C. Department of Transportation will close U.S. 301 at Exit 22 on Interstate 95 in Lumberton from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday for main line paving operations.
