The Elizabethtown-White Lake Chamber of Commerce has extended the deadline for the Christmas Window Decorating Contest. The deadline for contest entries is noon on Friday, Nov. 20, according to Chamber Executive Director Dawn Maynard.
The contest is open to members of the Chamber and there is no cost to enter, said Maynard. Judging will take place on Monday, Nov. 23, and winners will be announced on Wednesday, Nov. 25.
Maynard said the winner will be presented with a ribbon and a holiday gift basket.
“We were looking for another way to help promote our businesses,” said Maynard.
She said the Chamber hopes to grow the decorating contest and more businesses will become involved.
Maynard added that the contest will hopefully encourage businesses that normally do not decorate to consider decorating.
Maynard also said the contest is a great way for businesses to prepare for Black Friday and Small Business Saturday.
“Our main focus is small businesses. It is an effort to encourage people to shop local,” said Maynard.
