Good morning! 3 things to know for Tuesday, November 24

1. “A very special ‘Thank You’ to everyone who worked so hard to make (Saturday’s) BBQ/Cake Sale Fundraiser for Southeastern Carolina Crossroads a success!,” writes Bladen Baptist Association Director of Missions Bruce Cannon on our guestbook. “Many hours were spent cooking and preparing the meat for the BBQ and others spent time in the other preparations that were necessary for this event to take place. Many thanks also go out the ones who attended the event and gave so generously. It is thought that we raised around $11,000.” The faith-based rehabilitation center helps men overcome drug and alcohol abuse.

2. Cape Fear Valley-Bladen Healthcare is hosting a job fair today from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the lobby of Bladen County Hospital. Anyone interested in working at the facility is encouraged to attend.

3. A reminder about the second annual Bladen County 4-H Christmas Toy Drive. Toys will be accepted during business hours through Dec. 4 at the organization’s office at the Powell-Melvin Agriculture Service Center. Last year, the 4-Hers collected 70 toys and gifts. This year, says Youth Development Coordinator Stacie Kinlaw, the kids hope to collect even more toys and games.

And now you know.
