Bladen County has lost a loyal Patriot with the passing of Bobby Lewis.
He passed away early Saturday morning. Lewis was a fixture in Bladen County, working to raise awareness of the county’s history and historic locations.
Lewis enjoyed history and enjoyed seeing that Bladen County’s past is both preserved and shared with others. Lewis has volunteered as a member of the Bladen County Historical Society and Harmony Hall for more than 30 years.
Lewis was also a member of the Backwoods Militia and had assisted in the planning for the Battle of Elizabethtown re-enactment.
Lewis and his brother, Seth Lewis, have assisted in the restoration of Harmony Hall over the years and have helped to coordinate various events that have been held there.
Lewis will be missed by many folks, history buffs and friends and family.
