A circuit breaker that shorted out led to a temporary evacuation of students from the Elizabethtown Primary School on Wednesday afternoon, according to Bladen County Schools Public Relations Director Valerie Newton.
Newton said a circuit breaker shorted out and began to smoke, setting the smoke alarm off. Newton said students were evacuated for a short period of time as a precaution; but there was no fire.
Students were able to return to their respective classrooms to continue the school day.
