The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office held a ceremony to recognize employees for promotions and years of service on Thursday morning at the Bladen County Courthouse.

Bladen County Sheriff Jim McVicker said,  “I think it’s important to have a ceremony to recognize the staff.  Some have worked 30-35 hours over and I didn’t hear the first person complain.”

During the ceremony Corporal Wanda Monroe was recognized for 20 years of service. She is also preparing to enjoy retirement. When asked about her plans, Monroe said, “Hunt, clean and then when I get bored I’ll come back to work part time. They already have a call number for me.”

Larry Guyton said of Monroe,  “I’m proud to have worked for her.”

During the ceremony on Thursday  the following promotions and recognitions took place:

*T. Deaver promoted to Cpl.

*C. Willoughby promoted to Sgt.

*D. Williamson promoted to Cpl.

*M. Long promoted to Cpl.

*Cpl. Wanda Monroe recognized for 20 years of service.
